If you know Esther, you know she likes to work out. One day, she was doing her regular workout when Latosha Childers approached her and asked her if she wanted to play flag football with one of the local teams.  Esther needed a new hobby, so she joined the team, Miami Live, headed by Latosha's wife, Jessica Childers.

If you know Marla (especially when she's single), you know that Marla loves getting out and going places.  Alicia Hernandez contacted Marla and told her that her and her team were going to be in a flag football tournament in Atlanta and would love her support, so Marla took her chair, her beer cooler, and her recruitment attitude.

So as Marla was sitting in her chair and drinking her beer, she was also watching what was going on and off the field.  As she laughed at something that Esther said, Esther turned around, saw how beautiful Marla was and introduced herself to her.  They chatted, exchanged phone numbers, and Marla texted her the next day.

After Esther got home, Marla and Esther talked on the phone for 4 hours.  Each conversation after that, seemed to go hours on end.  After two weeks, Esther told Marla she was coming to visit in 2 days and that she was going to stay with Marla during her time in Atlanta.  Marla was impressed and overjoyed and 2 days later, Esther showed up at her front door, ready to spend some quality time with her. 

From that point forward, Marla and Esther went back and forth between GA & FL to see each other; usually, they stayed with each other for about a week at a time. Marla got to experience Miami for the first time and together, they got to experience many firsts with each other.
